Following the release of AEW’s Fight Forever video game in 2023, critic reviews were mixed and it received a 60% positive rating on Steam with 1,078 reviews as of September 2024. According to an article on insider-gaming.com, sources have indicated that AEW officials are “strongly considering” finding a new video game development partner for future titles.

During AEW’s All In Texas: Countdown to On Sale media event, AEW President Tony Khan was asked about the future of AEW video games following the release of Fight Forever. Here is what Khan had to say…

“It’s a great question. I think it was a great experience for us as a multimedia conglomerate and a worldwide corporation. It was a great first entry with AEW Fight Forever and people can still play AEW Fight Forever all over the world. I think eventually we’ll keep putting AEW games into the world.

I’m excited about AEW Fight Forever. There’s still more wrestlers and exciting things happening with the game. I think there’s a lot of opportunities in the world of gaming to your point.”
