Tiffany Stratton’s comments about Charlotte Flair on WWE Smackdown said to have been “retaliation”
As seen during the April 4th 2025 edition of WWE Smackdown, there was an in-ring promo battle between women’s champion Tiffany Statton and Charlotte Flair. According to Twitter/X account @WrestleVotes, the women said “very little of what was in the rundown for them” and they allegedly went “off script quite a bit.”
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com discussed the situation…
“There have been problems between the two for about two weeks. So people knew about it. And, I mean, you can even, you know, one thing about this is it also shows a complete double standard in how people view things. Because if this same thing had happened in AEW, while the blame would still probably go on the people in the ring, of course, it would largely go on Tony Khan for, if it was him, for ‘You’ve had two weeks to figure this out, to get these people on the same page. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.’ And there they went, out there, and they just went off the rails. And both of them, did you know what I mean? It was like Charlotte is getting more of the blame, and probably deservedly so, but they both are getting blamed for it.” (quote courtesy of WrestlingNews.co)
Meltzer was told from a source close to Tiffany that Charlotte deviated from the script first and Tiffany’s subsequent lines were “retaliation.” Tiffany’s heel-like exit from the ring was said to have been a defensive move to prevent the situation from escalating further.
