The Rock making a return to WWE sooner than expected?
The early word is that the 2021 Survivor Series PPV will be taking place in Brooklyn, NY at the Barclays Center and WWE is looking to make it as big of a show as possible.
There is also talk that The Rock could return to WWE as soon as Survivor Series to start the build for a Wrestlemania 38 match against Roman Reigns. Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that “the hope is for Dwayne Johnson to make an appearance at that show but that isn’t locked in.”
It was initially believed that The Rock would face Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania 37 but any plans had to be delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Meltzer mentioned that with The Rock getting older, the most likely options for one final match are Wrestlemania 38 in Dallas, TX or Wrestlemania 39 in Inglewood, CA. Meltzer wrote that The Rock “will want to set a box office record if he comes back, and the two places that he could do that would be AT&T Stadium and the new SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA.”
Touching on what was in this week's Wrestling Observer @davemeltzerWON.
Daves's report is correct. WWE is hoping to get the Rock for Survivor Series.
The plan is to have it in Brooklyn as of right now but it's very early and things can always change.

Earlier in the year, Reigns teased a match against The Rock for Wrestlemania 39…
“We’ll go to Hollywood for [@WrestleMania] 39, and I think it just makes sense.” – @WWERomanReigns on when a match with @TheRock makes sense.
