The Miz says he is “pissed off” about not getting a match on John Cena’s WWE retirement tour

While being interviewed by The Schmo, The Miz commented on John Cena vs. AJ Styles being booked for WWE Crown Jewel in Australia…

“The fans have been asking for AJ Styles versus John Cena, and now that’s what they’re getting in Perth at Crown Jewel. It makes me think—I’m happy for AJ Styles that he gets that honor, that opportunity. But it pisses me off as a WWE Superstar because I feel like I’ve had a big rivalry with John Cena. I’ve had multiple WrestleMania matches with John Cena, and yet the fans aren’t sitting there clapping and saying, ‘Hey, we want The Miz versus John Cena.’ They’re saying, ‘We want AJ Styles versus John Cena.’

John Cena has only five matches—or five dates, I don’t even know how many matches exactly—left in his pocket. That’s it. That’s either five superstars who are going to get an opportunity to be in the ring with him, and I want to be one of them. I’ve been vocal. I was the first person to say out there that I want to put my name in the hat to go against John Cena. When I heard about the farewell tour, I said ‘I want to be the first person to step up.’ All the fans had to do was tweet, go on Instagram, and talk about it. Get it riled up so it would be The Miz versus John Cena one last time. But no—you wanted Randy Orton. You wanted Brock Lesnar. You wanted AJ Styles. You didn’t ask for this guy.”
