“Stone Cold” Steve Austin could be making another appearance for WWE in 2026
According to WrestleVotes Radio, WWE has held internal discussions about “Stone Cold” Steve Austin making an appearance in the “near future.” Austin’s name has reportedly been circulating among multiple departments within the company.
While no details have been confirmed, the talks coincide with the start of WrestleMania season, fueling speculation that Austin could be involved around the 2026 Royal Rumble or an upcoming PLE. In September of 2025, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that Austin has been talked about for WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia.
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet in January of 2026, Austin said the following about a potential in-ring return…
“I could still do it, and I’m not advocating for nothing, so I’m not selling a match here, Chris. But you asked me, could I? Yes. [Would you?] Probably not. I’ll say that, but you say never.”
Austin made a non-wrestling appearance at WrestleMania 41 when he crashed his ATV twice. Austin’s vehicle went into the ringside barricade, causing a front row fan to fall backwards.
