Speculation regarding Tony Khan’s scheduled announcement for the 2/7/24 edition of AEW Dynamite
AEW President Tony Khan has a “big” announcement scheduled for the February 7th 2024 edition of AEW Dynamite. During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Melter of F4WOnline.com speculated that the announcement could be related to either Kazuchika Okada or Mercedes Mone being signed…
“I presume the announcement is a show in Boston and Mercedes Mone, but it could be a double announcement. He’s [Okada] a free agent as of right now. The impression I got is AEW has the higher offer, and WWE has gone with the idea that if Okada wants to come to WWE, he’ll come to WWE.
“They were originally going to make the announcement on Saturday [on Collision]. And then they realized that that was not probably the best day to make the announcement because with the Vince [McMahon] stuff, it’s like, no one’s gonna be talking about this. It’s better to do the announcement at a time when people will be talking about the announcement rather than get lost in the, you know, sleaziness of the Vince McMahon story that’s all over everywhere.” (quotes courtesy of WrestlingNews.co)
