Some of the segments from the WWE Unreal series said to have been “complete bullsh*t”

During the WWE Unreal series on Netflix, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s writer Brian Gewirtz discussed what the company had been considering for the storyline where Rock wanted the soul of WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. Gewirtz said that he pitched an idea to have Kevin Owens defeat Cody for the WWE title in an “impromptu match” at Elimination Chamber.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com commented on the series…

“There was some stuff in there that was just complete bullsh*t. I asked people about it and it was like, some stuff was complete bullsh*t, some stuff was kind of real. They really didn’t go in depth on it.

I can’t say complete bullsh*t, although I was told complete bullsh*t, was the idea that they were considering Cody Rhodes losing the title to Kevin Owens at the Elimination Chamber. When I heard that I was like, he may have come up with that suggestion but there was no way it was considered… Kevin didn’t even make WrestleMania because of the neck injury. But I just saw that, and I just thought, I can’t say it’s bullsh*t but it’s a terrible idea. And then I was told it was kind of bullsh*t.

The whole show is very clearly designed, someone who was very involved said the idea was they were trying to present [Paul] Levesque as Dana White. The idea is that the mastermind is Levesque.”
