“Significant changes” were reportedly made to Darby Allin vs. Jon Moxley from AEW WrestleDream 2025

As seen during the 2025 AEW WrestleDream PPV event, Darby Allin defeated Jon Moxley in an “I Quit” match. Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that there were “significant changes to the match and deletion of ideas planned out” due to the Missouri State Athletic Commission nixing certain things.

The Commission reportedly prohibited blading and any brawling in the crowd. However, they did permit the use of broken glass in the ring and allowed skewers. Early on, Darby used a blood capsule to simulate bleeding from the mouth, but it dried up quickly.

In one of the spots from the match, Moxley attempted to make Darby quit by drowning him in a fish tank. Former AEW producer, coach, and agent Sarah Stock publicly criticized it.
