Sammy Guevara injured in match prior to the October 2nd 2024 edition of AEW Dynamite

Prior to the October 2nd 2024 edition of AEW Dynamite, Sammy Guevara was knocked out during a Ring of Honor match against Serpentico. Fans in attendance noted that Serpentico came off the top rope and Guevara went for a cutter but the timing was off. Serpentico was said to have landed with Guevara’s face under him and Guevara was immediately knocked unconscious. The referee stopped the match and declared Serpentico as the winner. AEW medical staff checked on Guevara and he was stretchered from the ring.

Independent talent Kelly Madan was also reportedly knocked out in a match with Lady Frost.

John Clark shared a video of Guevara and noted the following…

“This is the second serious injury of the night just 4 matches in. Sammy Guevara hit a cutter out of mid air and landed very awkwardly. Match immediately stopped. Appears serious. Very bad start to the night here.”
