Seth Rollins (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for the RAW world heavyweight title took place at the WWE Payback 2023 PLE. Here are the highlights…

* A comic book vignette narrated by Nakamura was shown before his entrance. The Great Muta was shown at ringside during the introductions.

* The two had a feeling out process in the early moments as the crowd did dueling chants. Nakamura was sent to the outside and Rollins delivered a suicide dive. Back in the ring, Rollins went for a pedigree but Nakamura countered with a back body drop. The two went to the outside and Rollins was slammed back-first onto the announce table.

* Nakamura targeted the back of Rollins but wasn’t able to score a pinfall victory. Rollins gave Nakamura a hurricanrana out of the corner but was still hurting. Rollins managed to hit a frogsplash but Nakamura kicked out.

* Nakamura regained the upper and and applied an armbar submission but Rollins was able to counter with a sit-out powerbomb. Rollins hit a pedigree followed by a stomp to score the pinfall victory.
