Roman Reigns (c) vs. Drew McIntyre for the unified WWE Universal title took place at WWE Clash at the Castle 2022. Here are the highlights…
* Before the match, Karrion Kross and Scarlett were shown watching at ringside.
* A video for McIntyre played at the start of his entrance to his old “Broken Dreams” music. McIntyre then made his entrance to his current theme. The crowd sang “Oh Drew McIntyre” in the style of Seven Nation Army. Reigns came down to the ring by himself with The Bloodline and was largely booed.

* The crowd erupted in a standing ovation when the bell rang. The two engaged in a feeling out process. McIntyre got the best of Reigns and Reigns escaped to the outside. The crowd chanted “who are ya” at Reigns.
* The two fought on the outside. Kross stood up and taunted McIntyre which allowed Reigns to take advantage of the distraction. Reigns dominated for several minutes but McIntyre kicked out of multiple pin attempts at the count of one. Reigns started trashing talking McIntyre. Reigns grabbed the microphone and told Cardiff to acknowledge him. McIntyre then took the opportunity to hit the Glasgow kiss.

* McIntyre started to build momentum and tossed Reigns around the ring. McIntyre signaled for the claymore but Reigns escaped to the outside. They got back in the ring and Reigns hit a Rock bottom but McIntyre kicked out at two. Reigns countered a claymore attempt with a superman punch but McIntyre kicked out again.

* Reigns hit a spear but McIntyre kicked out and the crowd erupted. Reigns applied the guillotine submission and McIntyre struggled to escape until finally powering out. They ended up on the outside again and McIntyre speared Reigns through the barricade. McIntyre went for another claymore but Reigns countered with the spear which McIntyre managed to kick out of again.

* Reigns started arguing with the referee and threatened to punch him. McIntyre took down Reigns but the referee went down as well. Austin Theory ran down to cash in Money in the Bank but Tyson Fury punched him out. Reigns went to hit McIntyre with a chair but was finally hit with the claymore. However, Reigns kicked out.
* The two traded blows that turned into a hockey fight. McIntyre hit a spear to Reigns and then hit the claymore but Solo Sikoa pulled out the referee. Reigns then hit a spear and pinned McIntyre to retain the title.

* After the match, Tyson Fury got in the ring and had words with Reigns. Reigns then shook hands with Fury. After Reigns left, Fury got on the mic and praised McIntyre. Fury started signing the song American Pie and McIntyre sang with him. McIntyre spoke and praised the fans. McIntyre then started to continue singing and the show went off the air.
