Mercedes Mone (c) vs. Kris Statlander for the TBS title took place at AEW Full Gear 2024. Here are the highlights…

* Kris used her power to gain the early advantage. Mercedes turned the tide by hitting Kris with a hurricanrana off the apron to the floor. She followed up with a meteora off the apron onto Kris, maintaining her momentum.

* Mercedes tried to cheat by grabbing the ropes for leverage but was reprimanded by the referee. She delivered a sunset flip powerbomb to Kris into the corner but couldn’t secure the victory. Kris countered Mercedes’ meteora attempt by catching her and slamming her into the corner.

* Mercedes was finally able to hit another meteroa but Kris kicked out and Mercedes was visibly frustrated. Despite selling her knee, Statlander was able to deliver Saturday Night Fever but Mercedes kicked out. Statander took down Mercedes with an F5 but Mercedes kicked out again.

* Mercedes avoided a 450 splash from Kris and targeted her injured knee. She followed up with a frogsplash to the knee, but Kris managed to kick out again.

* Kris recovered and attempted to hit Saturday Night Fever again, but Mercedes bit her injured knee. Taking advantage, Mercedes rolled up Kris and secured the pinfall victory. After the match, Kris was helped to the back by a ringside doctor.
