Results of Hikaru Shida vs. Toni Storm at AEW Full Gear 2023

Hikaru Shida (c) vs. Toni Storm for the AEW women’s title took place at AEW Full Gear 2023. Here are the highlights…

* Toni ripped up the “script” as the match started. The two traded shots and Shida got the best of Toni. Shida delivered several chops as Mariah May watched backstage in horror. Toni was able to fight back with rapid fire chops of her own. Mariah was feeling better from backstage as Toni delivered offense.

* Luther gave a shoe to Toni and she used it while the referee was distracted but Shida kicked out. Shida made a comeback and delivered the falcon arrow but Toni kicked out. Shida’s ankle was hurting and Toni took advantage by applying an ankle lock but Shida was able to get to the rope.

* Shida got her kendo stick and was going to use it but was stopped by Luther. Shida attacked Luther with the kendo stick and returned to the ring. However, Toni placed a tray in her trunks and won the title after hitting a loaded hip attack in the corner.

* As Toni celebrated her victory, Mariah came down to the ring and gave Toni her flowers.
