Dominik Mysterio vs. AJ Styles for the Intercontinental title took place at the WWE SummerSlam Sunday 2025 PLE. Here are the highlights…

In tribute to Eddie Guerrero, Styles and his son arrived at the stadium in a lowrider. Styles wore Guerrero-inspired ring gear.

Dominik was able to avoid an early Styles Clash attempt, but Styles delivered a tornado DDT. Dominik countered a Phenomenal Forearm and took down Styles with a Michinoku Driver. Dominik delivered a 619, but Styles countered the Frog Splash. Styles then applied a Calf Crusher, but Dominik managed to reach the ropes.

Dominik attempted to cheat using Eddie Guerrero’s steel chair trick, but Styles didn’t fall for it. Styles reapplied the Calf Crusher, but Dominik escaped when his loosened boot was pulled off. Taking advantage, Dominik used the boot as a weapon while the referee wasn’t looking, then pinned Styles with a Frog Splash.
