Styles wore a mask for his entrance, just like he did in Japan prior to joining WWE. The two had a feeling-out process, and the crowd engaged in a dueling chant. After building momentum, Nakamura went for the Kinshasa, but Styles was able to counter it.

Styles applied the Calf Crusher, but Nakamura reached the bottom rope. Styles reapplied the hold, but Nakamura managed to counter into an armbar.

After the two traded blows, Nakamura delivered a knee to the back of Styles’ head. Nakamura went for the Kinshasa, but his knee gave out, and Styles hit a Kinshasa of his own. Styles delivered a Pele kick, and both men were down. The two traded strikes again. Nakamura went for the Kinshasa, but Styles blocked the move. Nakamura went for it again but missed and hit the turnbuckle. Styles delivered the Phenomenal Forearm, followed by the Styles Clash, to get the win. The two men showed respect after the match.
