Results of Adam Page vs. CM Punk at AEW Double or Nothing 2022

Hangman Adam Page (c) vs. CM Punk for the AEW world title took place at AEW Double or Nothing 2022. Here are the highlights…

* The two had a staredown and then Punk shoved Page. Page shoved back and the two locked up. The crowd erupted in a “CM Punk/Cowboy Sh*t” dueling chant.

* The two changed chops and Page got the upper hand. Both guys milked the mixed crowd reactions.

* Punk came off the top but was caught and got hit with a fallaway slam from Page. The match went to the outside and Page got the upper hand. Page powerbombed Punk on the ring apron and hit a flying lariat but Punk kicked out.

* Punk hit a superplex and built up momentum but couldn’t finish off Page. The two ended up back on the outside and Page hit his moonsault but was selling his knee. Page attempted a Buckshot lariat but had issues due to his knee and Punk put on the sharpshooter until Page got to the rope.

* On two occasions, Punk botched coming into the ring for the buckshot lariat but still hit the clothesline. The crowd booed Punk’s botch and he went for the cover but Page kicked out.

* Page hit the dead-eye but Punk kicked out at the very last moment. Page hit the GTS but Punk kicked out again. Page started selling his knee again.

* Both ended up on the outside and Page threw Punk over the timekeeper table. Page held up the title and trash talked.

* Back in the ring, Page went for the buckshot lariat but Punk caught him and went for the GTS. The referee got knocked down and Page hit the lariat.

* With the referee down, Page grabbed his title and was measuring Punk. Page hesitated and ended up dropping the title. Page went for the buckshot again but Punk caught him and hit the GTS. The referee counted three and Punk won the title.
