Report: WWE wanted Donald Trump to attend Saturday Night’s Main Event but he decided against it
While there was internet speculation about United States President Donald Trump attending John Cena’s retirement match at Saturday Night’s Main Event in Washington, D.C., he ultimately did not make an appearance. Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted the following regarding the situation…
“They [WWE] wanted Trump. He attended the Army vs. Navy football game not far away and could have made it to both but his decision was not to come.”
While Trump did not appear at SNME, Linda McMahon attended with other members of the Trump administration, including Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (with wife Cheryl Hines of Curb Your Enthusiasm fame), Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz and Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins.
Lutnick shared a photo from the event via Twitter/X…

What’s better than WWE with @Linda_McMahon? It was awesome. pic.twitter.com/Rc4Lp3Y7h3— Howard Lutnick (@howardlutnick) December 14, 2025
