Report: The reason why Rusev hasn’t appeared on WWE television since the end of 2025
WWE star Rusev hasn’t wrestled since defeating Otis in a Main Event match that was taped on December 1st 2025. Prior to that, he lost to Jey Uso in a “Last Time Is Now” tournament match on November 21st.
Rusev’s absence from WWE television is reportedly not due to injury or discipline, but rather a creative decision. According to PWInsider.com, WWE is keeping him off television to avoid using him without a meaningful storyline, aiming to keep him fresh for a stronger return later.
Rusev’s situation is said to be similar to WWE’s decision to keep The Street Profits off television for the time being.
During his time off, Rusev announced the launch of his new wrestling academy KECH Pro Wrestling. The school is based in Nashville, Tennessee, and begins teaching students on March 1st.
