Report on when CM Punk will be “officially” making his return to the WWE ring
As previously noted, CM Punk’s torn triceps injury at the 2024 WWE Royal Rumble PLE was among several circumstances to cause a “sharp turn” in WWE’s creative plans for Wrestlemania 40.
As seen during the 2024 WWE Clash at the Castle PLE, CM Punk screwed Drew McIntyre out of the world heavyweight title. Punk then announced that he will be appearing at the June 21st edition of Smackdown in Chicago.
Punk vs. McIntyre has been rumored for the 2024 Summerslam PLE. In regards to when Punk will be cleared sooner than that, Twitter/X account @WrestleVotes noted the following…
“As of last week’s RAW roster sheet, CM Punk’s official return date was set for the end of July. I’m told he likely won’t be cleared for action by MITB [Money in the Bank] on 7/6, but he should be ready for SummerSlam on 8/3.”
