Report: Andrade is now eligible to sign with AEW following legal situation with WWE

During the six-year anniversary edition of AEW Dynamite, Andrade made his return to AEW after being released from WWE. However, he has not appeared on AEW television since coming back to the company as WWE reportedly sent a cease and desist letter to AEW.

Ahead of the 2025 AEW Worlds End PPV event, Tony Khan stated during a media call that he would like to see Andrade return to the company, noting that there is respect on both sides. Khan urged fans to “stay tuned to AEW and his next move.”

In an update, Fightful.com reported that Andrade is now eligible to sign with AEW. Lawyers reportedly negotiated an early exit from WWE, which came together over the past couple of weeks. It is believed that fellow AEW star Rush connected Andrade with an attorney who was able to get his one-year non-compete clause waived.

New Japan Pro Wrestling wrapped up its 2025 schedule on December 22nd at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, with a surprise coming out of the Road To Tokyo Dome (Day 3) event when Andrade El Idolo was revealed as returning to NJPW. Following a United Empire victory, Callum Newman introduced Andrade via video as the first of two mystery partners for Wrestle Kingdom 20.
