Rapper Megan Thee Stallion reportedly had an agreement with AEW star prior to WWE deal

As seen during the September 13th 2024 edition of WWE Smackdown, the song “Neva Play” by rapper Megan Thee Stallion and RM Of BTS debuted as the show’s official theme music.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted that prior to the WWE deal being made, Megan Thee Stallion had been in talks with AEW star Mercedes Mone. There was reportedly a meeting that opened up negotiations between Megan’s manager Mike B of Roc Nation and Mercedes’ manager Keven Undergaro.

Johnson stated the following…

“We are told that after the two sides had agreed to do something together, Mone publicly mentioned the idea while promoting AEW All In: London, noting that she was hoping to get Stallion in the ring in AEW. There had been conversations about the two doing something together in WWE as far back as 2021.”

It was added that WWE’s deal with Megan caught Mercedes’ inner circle by surprise and the status of a potential Megan/Mercedes collaboration is uncertain.
