Potential location for an international WWE premium live event in 2025
Chris Legentil, Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and Head of Communications, spoke with the Sports Media podcast and said the following about more international WWE events taking place in 2025…
“This year alone we did over half of our Premium Live Events outside of the U.S. Look for more of that when we’re in partnership with Netflix because we’re gonna be working with them hand in hand to select locations across the world, where we can grow our audience and hopefully gain some subscribers for them.”
According to Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com, there was at least talk of WWE doing a PLE in Mexico City. WWE stars such as Rey Mysterio have pushed for a PLE in Mexico and WWE broke attendance/gate records while touring Mexico City in 2023.
Meltzer also noted the following…
“Given they had so much wrestling that appeals to tourists in that city (like once a week), I don’t think getting the government to big pay money to bring WWE in will be as easy here as in many other places. But they will sell out Arena Ciudad for a PPV show most likely. It would feel like economically they can profit more somewhere else though.”
