People in charge of WWE allegedly have “no interest” in bringing back Shane McMahon

It was previously reported that AEW President Tony Khan had a private meeting with Shane McMahon and a photo of them together “leaked” online. While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed the situation with Shane and WWE…

“I know that Shane McMahon has looked to get back in WWE. I know that the people in charge of WWE have no interest in him. Could that change with the idea that he’d be willing to go to AEW? Maybe, maybe not? Would he really be willing to go to AEW? I don’t know where his mind is. Shane got a lot, a lot of money. If you compare the amount of money Shane got for the amount of work he did when he was an active few times a year pro wrestler it was a really high number.”

Meltzer also noted how there were issues between Shane and WWE before his return for Wrestlemania 32 in 2016…

“I know from people in WWE, like I said he’s tried to get back. There’s a lot of negativity, I would say has been there for a long time. Him coming back, it wasn’t like when he was gone they were begging him to come back. Linda [McMahon] pushed very very hard for a long, time for him to come back and they took him back because there was some injuries for Wrestlemania and they knew he and Undertaker was going to do business.” (quotes courtesy of WrestleTalk.com)
