Paul Heyman explains why being a heel wrestling character is “the easiest thing in the world”

While speaking on the What’s Your Story? With Steph McMahon podcast, Paul Heyman commented on why it’s harder to be a babyface (protagonist) character in wrestling than a heel (antagonist)…

“As a babyface, you have to be completely conscious that at every minute you’re wearing out your welcome. Everything is an audition, every moment. People are not inclined to like anything.”

“But as a heel, you can do no wrong, anything. I try to teach this to everybody: As a heel, you can completely screw up totally and just sit there and say, ‘you’ve interrupted my train of thought! I’m very angry at all of you!’ All you have to do is sit there and say, ‘So now because of that, I’m going to start all over again!’ It’s the easiest thing in the world. You can’t screw up as a heel.”
