News regarding WWE’s future plans for former NXT world champion Carmelo Hayes

Former WWE NXT world champion Carmelo Hayes is currently scheduled to face Trick Williams at the 2024 Stand and Deliver PLE on Saturday, April 6th. In regards to WWE’s future plans for Hayes, Corey Brennan Of Fightful.com noted the following…

“Fightful Select has been told that Carmelo Hayes has been set for a main roster callup since prior to the Royal Rumble in January. Hayes is expected to move up to the main roster fulltime shortly after Stand And Deliver.”

Brennan added that officials are reportedly pushing for Hayes vs. Williams to main event Stand and Deliver even though it’s not a title match. It’s being said that a final decision about which match closes the show is still pending.

There is also talk of Hayes continuing his feud with Williams on the main roster once both are called up. While it’s unclear when Williams will be called up, WWE officials are reportedly very high on him following his Smackdown appearance in January.
