News regarding WWE’s decision to book Seth Rollins vs. Gunther at WrestleMania 42
As seen during the March 30th 2026 edition of WWE RAW at Madison Square Garden, Seth Rollins vs. Gunther was officially confirmed for WWE WrestleMania 42, despite rumors of Bron Breakker being in the building. Rollins vs. Breakker and Gunther vs. Rey Mysterio were reportedly planned for WrestleMania until Breakker and Rey suffered injuries.
Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted the following regarding the situation…
“During last night’s show, we said we’d check on whether Gunther vs. Seth came about because Breakker wasn’t cleared in time. Actually, no—that was the updated plan regardless.”
A fan asked Meltzer, “So since Bron was injured, Gunther/Seth was always the plan B?” Meltzer responded, “No, there were multiple other ideas since that specific injury.”
