News regarding why Bobby Lashley didn’t appear at AEW WrestleDream despite internet speculation

As seen during the 2024 AEW WrestleDream PPV event, Swerve Strickland turned down MVP’s offer to join his group with Shelton Benjamin. Despite internet speculation, Bobby Lashley did not make an appearance at WrestleDream.

Lashley is still expected to debut with AEW in the near future and according to Fightful Select, it’s believed that his debut was delayed to allow for it to stand out. Fightful also stated the following…

“Based on early indications, Lashley was considered for the WrestleDream spot to debut, but it was decided against. When we asked about Lashley not being on the show, we were told considering that the likely debut would have resulted in Swerve being laid out or attacked, it’s not likely two hometown beat downs would have worked out well with the way the show ended.”
