News regarding when WWE Smackdown will go back to being a two-hour show
The January 3rd 2025 edition of WWE Smackdown was the launch of the brand’s three-hour format on the USA Network. However it doesn’t appear that the show will remain at three hours.
While appearing on The Pat McAfee Show today, Paul “Triple H” Levesque referred to Smackdown as three hours “for right now and then it switches back to two.” Triple H did not specify when the change will happen although @WrestleVotes previously reported that Smackdown would become a three-hour show for around six months. Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted the following in regards to the matter…
“PWInsider.com reached out to a source and they believed the show would remain three hours at least into the Spring, but there was no concrete date as to when it would shift back to two hours, noting they want to be a good partner to NBCU and are open to whatever is best for that partnership.”
Triple H has confirmed that #Smackdown is 3 hours for now and will move back to 2 hours but did not say when. "Yes, for right now, and then it switches back to two." pic.twitter.com/bQeTw5yRXc
