News regarding what is planned for Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson after WWE Wrestlemania 40

Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins will face Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and undisputed Universal champion Roman Reigns at night one of WWE Wrestlemania 40. Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com is reporting that Johnson will be working on a new film project called The Smashing Machine after Wrestlemania. Rock’s production company Seven Bucks is producing the movie.

Johnson noted the following…

“PWInsider.com has confirmed that casting is underway for a number of supporting characters in the film, which we can exclusively confirm is currently slated to film from 5/1 through 8/1. That would likely take him out of doing anything physical for WWE during that time period.”

It had been rumored that WWE was looking to have Johnson be part of the next Saudi Arabia PLE in May but his movie schedule affects when he can make wrestling appearances.
