News regarding TNA Wrestling potentially being sold amid rumors of a new media rights real

In July of 2025, Anthem Sports Group president Carlos Silva discussed TNA Wrestling seeking a new media rights deal that would produce live television every single week. In an update on the negotiations, Jon Alba of SI.com noted that TNA is reportedly open to moving Impact to Wednesday nights against AEW.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com stated the following in response to the SI report…

“There are a ton of unconfirmed rumors in the wrestling industry that Lorenzo Fertitta could be buying TNA. Fertitta used to own UFC, before it was sold and put under the TKO umbrella.”

“There were also claims that Tony Khan was approached a few years ago about interest in buying TNA and passed. This is in addition to him being contacted before starting AEW.”

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that Fertitta potentially buying TNA is not a done deal. Meltzer also wrote the following…

“When asking around about this, we were able to get a WWE source confirm what many had suspected since the working agreement started, and that was the working deal with TNA is similar to the deals WWE had offered various European groups (wXw, OTT, RevPro, Progress) years ago when they offered to allow some European talent on the shows. The deal offered, that every company at the time accepted but RevPro, was that they would also supply tapes of their shows for the WWE Network and that there was a time frame where WWE had the option to purchase the promotion.”
