News regarding Jacob Fatu’s WWE status following the 2025 Survivor Series PLE

As seen during the October 17th 2025 edition of WWE SmackDown, Jacob Fatu was scheduled to have a match against Drew McIntyre. However, a mystery attacker ambushed Fatu backstage. Equipment was dropped onto Fatu, leaving him on the ground with blood visible and several teeth knocked out.

According to PWInsider.com, there was talk backstage at WWE Survivor Series that Fatu is close to returning to WWE storylines after taking time off to recover from a dental procedure. One source believes Fatu could be back on the road within the next few weeks but an exact date hasn’t been confirmed.

Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that Cody Rhodes was Fatu’s replacement for the men’s War Games match.
