News regarding a scrapped idea for WWE’s partnership with TNA Wrestling that included Joe Hendry
While TNA World Champion Joe Hendry was an entrant in the 2025 men’s WWE Royal Rumble PLE, Hendry has not made any additional appearances on the WWE main roster.
According to Fightful.com, there was an idea earlier this year for Hendry to potentially be involved in a feud with The Miz on WWE RAW. Ariel Shnerer, who was TNA’s Executive Producer and creative head at the time, reportedly disagreed with the storyline as it would have likely involved Hendry taking a loss. Fightful added that WWE “sent Ethan Page over [to TNA] for what we’re told is a very similar piece of creative to what would have been planned.”
When Shnerer visited NXT, it’s believed that a “situation” arose where wrestlers requested he not be in the locker room. It was clarified that the issue wasn’t personal; they simply felt the locker room should be exclusive to talent.
In March of 2025, TNA President Carlos Silva announced the exit of eight staff members from the organization including Shnerer.
