MVP reveals that he has turned down unrealistic moves on the behalf of Bobby Lashley
While speaking on his podcast, AEW star MVP of The Hurt Syndicate discissed advice he gave to Omos in WWE…
“A lot of the lessons that I passed on to him were things I learned from working with Big Show, Undertaker, Kane — you know, working with these giants. I talked to him about how to compose himself, how to pace himself, and that he was going to have guys who would try to lift him off his feet and do moves to him.
I told him, ‘Say no.’
And as you know, we went through that because it was difficult for him as a new guy just learning the ropes. Hierarchy matters in pro wrestling to a point. Usually, if you’re a younger, greener guy and a more experienced veteran wants to do something, you give way to the veteran.
But nowadays, veterans aren’t like how they used to be. They don’t always have the same experience or the same grasp of psychology. So I told him, ‘You’re going to get a little 175-pound dude who’s going to want to suplex you. You have to be comfortable saying no. You can’t do that. You can’t suplex me.’
‘Why not?’
‘Because I’m a f*cking giant, that’s why.’
Part of my job with him was to protect him. And that’s how Bobby [Lashley] and I ended up together, too. Bobby is way too nice for the amount of damage he can do. He’s one of the nicest guys around, and he’s way too giving. So guys would want to do things to Bobby, and Bobby would be like, ‘Okay,’ and I’d step in like, ‘No. No, you can’t do that to him.’
Bobby would go, ‘Talk to P.’
I’d ask, ‘Would you do that to Brock Lesnar?’
‘No.’
‘Well, that’s Black Brock Lesnar. So no, you can’t suplex him. No, you can’t powerbomb him. Not you.’
Protect your size. Protect being a giant.”
