Multiple wrestlers have reportedly pushed for WWE to bring back Alberto Del Rio

Former WWE star Alberto Del Rio lost a match to El Mesias in AAA on July 25th and per the stipulation, he must “leave” the promotion. This has led to speculation about Del Rio’s future in the wrestling business.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted the following about Del Rio and WWE…

“There’s many different people with many different ideas on Alberto with everything from he’s gone [from AAA], which I don’t expect watching the way they put that thing, to he’s going to the main roster, which I don’t expect, but there are absolutely people pushing for that… There are people very, very impressed with Alberto as far as the way he handles himself as a star and he’s super, super over. He’s the biggest star in the company.”

Cultaholic.com stated the following in regards to the rumors…

“Following reports in recent days that noted people in WWE wanted the former Alberto Del Rio to be brought back, sources close to the situation have told Cultaholic that wrestlers within WWE actively pushing for Del Rio’s return are Andrade, and Humberto & Angel of Los Garza. Other Mexican wrestlers on the company’s roster and AAA talents have also pushed for Alberto El Patron to be booked by WWE.”
