Mick Foley comments on why he has been “really grateful” for AEW’s existence
During an interview with Monopoly Events, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley commented on why AEW has been important to the wrestling industry…
“I think they’ve been really important in raising the remuneration that wrestles receive. I’m not saying this out of any disrespect, but WWE is to me in its own league, but I’m really grateful for AEW. They have great matches on a regular basis, and without them, the WWE superstars would not be making that they deserve. So thank you, Tony Khan.”
Foley also discussed his health complications from the 1998 Hell in a Cell match against The Undertaker…
“That was a bad night, I could have been seriously hurt, so I certainly hope no one ever tries anything remotely like that. I was hurting. I mean, cumulatively, you just can’t take a lot of shots like that. So I have to be really careful in my everyday life. I don’t get jolted. I can’t ride rollercoasters anymore, I have an aversion to bright lights. But all things considered, I think I’m doing pretty well.” (quotes courtesy of Colin Tessier)
