Jesse Ventura: “Since Trump dislikes Minnesota so much and we’re supposedly so out of control, let’s join Canada”

During an interview with the SpinSisters podcast, WWE Hall of Famer and former Minnesota Governor Jesse “The Body” Ventura commented on the ongoing tensions between the state and United States President Donald Trump…

“Let me throw this out on your show and we’ll get some headlines. Since Trump dislikes Minnesota so much and we’re supposedly so out of control, let’s join Canada. Instead of Canada becoming the 51st state of America and losing their health care—like they’ve said, they would never do that because they’d lose their health care—I’d like to see Minnesota, all of us, become Canadians. Secession.

Make this part of Canada, because it’s obvious Donald Trump doesn’t want us. It’s obvious that he’s ready to fracture the whole country for his own folly, whatever he’s doing. I think we should petition to get out of the United States. If they don’t want us, I’m sure Canada would be happy to take us. Then all those Iowans—think of what a mess it’ll be when they have to cross an international border to come up here fishing.”

Earlier this month, Ventura referred to Trump as a “draft-dodging coward.”
