Jelly Roll told Triple H that he wanted to lose his tag team match at WWE SummerSlam

As seen during the 2025 WWE SummerSlam PLE, Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul defeated Randy Orton and Jelly Roll. Jelly Roll lost the match when he was pinned by Logan.

While speaking to Cody Rhodes, Jelly Roll addressed his run with WWE so far…

“I think what I’m probably the most proud of so far — that I’ve been able to be one of the first guys in a long time to take a wrestling storyline outside of WWE’s presence. Or even, like, you know what I mean, as far into mainstream media as you can go. And not even just like a conversation — like, we got to do the full thing. We really got to bring a segment to late night television again. I’m proud of that, you know what I mean? I’m proud of that. And I’m not proud of much. Like, if you ask me which albums I was proud of, you’d be surprised. I’m proud of like two — you know what I’m saying? Out of 20. Like, I’m truly proud of that. But the storytelling is what made me want to do this.”

“I told Triple H, I wanna lose at SummerSlam. Just ’cause no celebrities ever took an L — they always get put over. And if you don’t put me over, I always have a reason. There’s always just something lingering there. I can pop up anytime. Any one of those three are there.”
