Jacob Fatu could be out of action for an extended period of time due to a non-wrestling related injury

Jacob Fatu has been involved in a feud with Drew McIntyre and the two men were scheduled to have a match on the October 17th 2025 edition of WWE SmackDown. However, Bodyslam.net reports that Fatu is dealing with a non-wrestling related injury that is expected to keep him out of action for an extended period of time — possibly “well into 2026.”

At this time, WWE has not commented on Fatu’s status. Fatu last competed in a dark match on September 12th and returned to television on September 26th after a brief absence.

Twitter/X account @WRKDWrestling noted that fans can “expect to see some call ups to the SmackDown roster sooner rather than later to fill some of the gaps left by recent injuries and to help freshen up the product.”
