Gunther officially confirmed as John Cena’s final WWE opponent
As seen during the December 5th 2025 edition of WWE SmackDown, Gunther faced LA Knight in the “Last Time Is Now” tournament final. After a back-and-forth match, Gunther defeated Knight by submission. Gunther will now face Cena in Cena’s retirement match at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th, 2025.
Cody Rhodes vs. Ricky Saints or Oba Femi and Bayley vs. Sol Ruca were also confirmed for SNME.
