Former WWE star Ted DiBiase Jr. found not guilty of all charges in fraud case
Former WWE star Ted DiBiase Jr., son of “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, was charged with theft of millions of dollars in federal funds intended for needy families in April of 2023. Accusations against DiBiase included one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and theft from federally funded programs, six counts of wire fraud, two counts of theft from federally funded programs, and four counts of money laundering.
Pam Dankins of the Clarion Ledger is reporting that a federal jury found Ted DiBiase Jr. not guilty on all charges. After hearing testimony from more than two dozen witnesses, jurors deliberated for about four hours on Friday, March 20th, before delivering the not guilty verdict on all 13 counts. Following the decision, DiBiase was released from his bond conditions.
DiBiase had pleaded not guilty and did not testify during the trial, which began January 6th. The proceedings were paused on January 14th due to an illness affecting the lead defense attorney and resumed on February 23rd.
The prosecution rested on Tuesday, March 17th, with the defense concluding its case the following day. Closing arguments were presented by both sides on Thursday, March 19th.
