Former NJPW star reportedly decided to sign with AEW despite having an invited WWE tryout

As seen during the March 29th 2025 edition of AEW Collision, Jay White defeated former NJPW star Kevin Knight. After the match, White showed respect to Knight. AEW President Tony Khan then wrote the following message via Twitter/X…

“Congratulations, it’s official! After a fantastic performance at Saturday Night AEW Collision tonight, Kevin Knight is All Elite!”

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, it was confirmed that Knight had an invited tryout at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando several weeks ago but ultimately decided to sign with AEW.
