Female Wrestler and Former WWE Performer Confirms AEW Departure, Praises Liv Morgan

In an interview with USA Today, female wrestler and personality CJ Perry (formerly Lana in WWE) has confirmed that she’s a free agent and no longer working for All Elite Wrestling (AEW). She indicated to USA Today that her “time with them had just finished” and she was last seen on an AEW program during November 2023.

She would like to continue her role in a managerial capacity, telling USA Today: “I’m really focused on finding talent and cultivating them and helping them become the best wrestler, champion possible. I guess you could say I want to be the Paul Heyman.”

CJ was quoted as saying WWE is in her “heart and soul” and it’s the “greatest franchise in the world”. She advised that AEW is “much more sport driven” and it’s been “great to see many people get jobs there”.

CJ Perry had praise for women, minorities and those within LGBTQ community getting opportunities in wrestling because “anyone can be the next big star in any wrestling promotion. She continued with that thought, adding praise for Liv Morgan (close best friend) and her recent storylines: “Women need to be represented, and yes we are different than men. But we bring value. We can sell tickets. I mean look at Liv Morgan right now. It shows you that we need everything. We need the competitors, we need the badasses, we need the love stories and there’s a spot for everyone.” She also praised Liv Morgan for being the “perfect” role for the storyline with Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio.

As a FYI, Perry was signed with the WWE for NXT during 2013 and would have been a Triple H signing to the promotion during his tenure as EVP of Talent Relations back then. She was released during June 2021 when HHH was no longer in that Talent Relations position.
