Eric Young returns to Impact Wrestling after being granted his release from WWE

At the 2023 Impact Wrestling Slammiversary PPV event, Eric Young made his return to the company as the mystery partner for Scott D’Amore against Bully Ray and Deaner. Young and D’Amore picked up the victory.

It was recent reported that Young had possibly departed WWE and was rumored for a Slammiversary appearance. According to Fightful.com, Young asked for his release in April of 2023 and it was granted. WWE sources said that Young cited “moral conflicts” working with Vince McMahon in addition to creative concerns.
