Early news regarding WWE’s plans for the return of Saturday Night’s Main Event
Last month, WWE announced the return of Saturday Night’s Main Event with an NBC/Peacock special that will air live on Saturday, December 14th 2024. The belief is that WWE will treat the Saturday Night’s Main Event revival like a premium live event. Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com noted that while it’s not 100% confirmed, WWE Champion Cody Rhodes vs. Kevin Owens is expected to be one of the matches.
According to Meltzer, there was plans for WWE Hall of Famer Jesse Ventura to be part of the show but his role is yet to be determined. Meltzer wrote that “right now the idea is for him not to announce the entire show, perhaps an interview segment or announcing a match but the idea now is simply for him to be part of the show for nostalgia reasons.”
While speaking to Chris Van Vliet during the summer, Ventura teased that “there’s even more, bigger and better stuff waiting to happen” following the signing of his Legends contract.
As of October 11th, a reported 8,372 tickets had been distributed for the event at Nassau Coliseum.
