Drew McIntyre pulled from WWE live event and replaced by Braun Strowman
While Drew McIntyre was involved in an angle with Karrion Kross during the September 23rd 2022 edition of WWE Smackdown, McIntyre did not appear at Saturday’s WWE live event in Stockton, CA as advertised. McIntyre was replaced by Braun Strowman who teamed up with The New Day to defeated The Usos and Solo Sikoa in the main event.
It appears that the change was not due to McIntyre’s angle with Kross but rather an illness. Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted the following: “The word making the rounds is that McIntyre has been very ill with bad food poisoning but gutted his way through Smackdown (including getting an IV treatment to help him get through the show) but the company made the decision to pull him from the road so he could rest.”
