D-Von Dudley admits that he took steroids during the start of his TNA Wrestling run
In a video published to the VladTV YouTube channel, WWE Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley commented on using steroids during the start of his time with TNA Wrestling…
“I actually took it during my TNA run, but it wasn’t long-term. I did indulge in it for probably about three years.
I spent 10 years in TNA, and it was about three, three-and-a-half years of using it. The only bad thing was that when I stopped using it, my body fell off—I wasn’t looking jacked anymore, I was looking flabby.
Then I had to train all over again the way I used to when I was younger. I had to go back to calisthenics, do everything, and even get a trainer to help get my body right.
So yes, I did use it when I left WWE and went to TNA for the first three years, but after that, I stopped.
I think that’s where the knee problems came into play, because I got up to almost 315 pounds. I was just solid, and carrying all that weight around hurt my knees. I wore knee pads and braces my whole career, and I kept asking myself, ‘How am I having knee problems carrying all that weight and bouncing around?’ You can’t do that and expect nothing to happen.
So I don’t blame TNA—I blame myself. I indulged in that stuff. Nobody put a gun to my head and forced me. I did it.”
