Conflicting reports about the legitimacy of Seth Rollins’ alleged knee injury

As seen during WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 12th 2025, LA Knight defeated Seth Rollins with a BFT after Rollins injured his knee. The finish of the match was reportedly changed due to Rollins being hurt.

According to Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline.com, multiple sources within WWE have stated the knee injury was a work. It was claimed that both talent and people in production were worked into thinking it was legitimate. Alvarez noted that according to one source, Rollins did have a very minor knee injury going into Saturday but was nothing that would keep him out of action for a long period of time.

During his podcast this week, John Pollock of PostWrestling.com stated the following…

“I was told two days before this [Saturday Night’s Main Event] to look out for an injury angle with Seth Rollins. It was even described to me it would be an injury angle that gets him on crutches going into SummerSlam. Something to that effect. So, I was told this on two days before the match happens.”

However, Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com stated the following…

“For those who have asked about reports this is all some sort of work, it is not – and anyone claiming such is being completely disrespectful to Rollins at this point.”
