CM Punk was reportedly backstage at 4/24/23 WWE RAW in Chicago but asked to leave
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com, AEW’s CM Punk was reportedly backstage at the April 24th 2023 edition of WWE RAW for a brief period of time to visit people. Johnson noted that according to WWE sources, Punk did see Triple H which would’ve been the first time the two met in person since Punk left the company in 2014. Johnson added that Punk “was eventually asked to exit the arena.”
Johnson also stated the following in regards to Punk being asked to leave…
“One WWE source believed it may have been since he was under contract to another company. We are told by the same source that it was a Vince McMahon call that he leave the venue and that when he was asked, Punk immediately said his goodbyes and left the building.”
Twitter account @WRKDWrestling noted the following about the situation…
“Things are currently chaotic backstage at #WWERaw, between very last minute changes to the show from Vince McMahon and the shocking, unprompted visit from CM Punk. Like fans, talent were beyond surprised to have Punk there.”
