CM Punk says the best match of his WWE career was not against John Cena at Money in the Bank

While appearing on the WWE Now podcast, CM Punk was asked if he preferred his match against John Cena at Money in the Bank 2011 or their rematch on the February 25th 2013 edition of RAW. Here was Punk’s response…

“I think Money in the Bank’s more of a moment. I think just as a pure contest, that match— I think it was Dallas— I think that match means a whole lot more to me. I think that’s the best match I’ve ever had.”

In his 2013 blog, WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross commented on the rematch…

“One thing that was buzzing back stage in OKC was the amazing match that closed the Raw broadcast Monday night in Dallas between John Cena and CM Punk. Two points on this tremendous, main event, 1. Cena added some new wrinkles to his game that might silence some of his narrow minded critics for a few days and 2. Punk was working with the flu and hampered by jet lag from a long flight to Dallas from Istanbul on the last day of a grueling, three day international tour. I watched the match live on TV and it is the first match in a long time that I’ve gone back and watched again on DVR.”
