Claim made that Santana and Ortiz “are not on good terms”

There has been internet speculation in recent months about the future of Santana and Ortiz as a tag team. The duo were teaming up on fewer occasions in AEW than in the past and they were also not standing next to each other in some television segments. Both had been taking separate independent wrestling booking dates. Konnan, who has been affiliated with the team, was asked about the situation during his podcast and he said “they are not on good terms” but did not elaborate any further.

Santana suffered an injury during the 2022 Blood and Guts steel cage match and there has also been speculation about his contractual status with AEW. In April, Santana tweeted “126 days” (leading to September 1st) and then tweeted “soon” in June prior to his injury.
